You know how in “Pulp Fiction” there is the debate about being an Elvis person or a Beatles person? (This might be a deleted scene, I sort of forget). Anyway, I can imagine a future where people discuss whether they are an RJD2 person or a DJ Shadow person.
I think I lean towards RJ, although you can’t deny Shadow’s impact on the DJ mixup culture. Anyway, Shadow’s new album is out today and Pitchfork gave it a 5.8, saying “This album should alienate virtually everyone who’s ever been a Shadow fan.”
Meanwhile, RJD2 has signed to XL.
