The name of Beaten Awake‘s debut album is “Let’s Get Simplified.” Their album artwork is anything but simple, though. I’ve stared at it (and the rest of the package artwork) for a long time, trying to make sense of it, but have decided to just roll with it.
Beaten Awake played the Donewaiting.com 3 Year Anniversary Show back in February, so I’ve been waiting a long time for this to come out. It’s a good blend of My Morning Jacket via Smog, with some Akron and Kent love thrown in for good measure.
The band features donewaiting.com pal Al Karpinski from one of my favorite bands The Six Parts Seven.
