Favorite New Blog: Lamestain

Over the weekend, I read the entire archive of a new music blog, Lamestain. The site chronicles the grunge and pre-grunge scenes of the 80s and 90s, and is excellent written (unlike this site).

The description of the blog reads: “We’re aiming to archive lesser-known grunge and similar music from the Pacific Northwest. Expect TAD. Expect Cat Butt. Don’t expect Mad Season.”

Bands like Nirvana and Pearl Jam broke when I was in high school, and it really impacted my life. Reading Lamestain, I get a better understanding of the music climate that helped bring these bands about, and there’s tons of mp3 links to help better put it into perspective. Totally totally recommended. Check it out, pronto.

  1. Yeah, so Pearl Jam’s “Better Man” came on the car radio the other day, and I realized, duh, this is what made Dave Matthews possible.

Then I popped a wheelie and flipped into a crick.

  2. You found a great blog. Thanks for sharing.
