Uncle Tupelo on You Tube (Uncle Tubelo?)

I got the Wilco fever, friends. With the new album looming, my favorite band is once again occupying a lot of my listening habits lately.

Earlier today I got to thinking how I never saw Uncle Tupelo live and wondered if there was anything on Youtube with them.

Sadly, there is only two videos but they’re both great. This first clip is the band doing “Graveyard Shift” and “Factory Belt” on what appears to be a cable access (or college?) TV program.

  1. Oh Mr. Duffy, you know the way to my heart. Gun is one of my all time favorite songs. Anthology has been in my car for non-stop for weeks.

Mr. Duffy, I’m gonna have to dig through my archives and find my UT video tapes for ya. Somewhere I’ve got a bootleg recording of them playing their last show, and the quality ain’t that bad either.

  3. I used to have a VHS of them playing Lounge Ax. The truth of the matter? I saw them back in the day and they were terrific, but I don’t really think anyone knew what they would spawn … or that Tweedy would end up being the one with a more successful solo career!

  5. Way to dig for the Bellevilles of the ball.
