Yes, you’re right.. it is a cartoon movie but it doesn’t mean it has to be awful. Just look at the wonders Pixar have done with their movies. Now, just imagine what a CG Star Wars film would be like at the hands of Pixar. Don’t drool too much. :)
Last night, I sat through the first 2 episodes of the series. I have to say, I am very disappointed. One thought that went through my mind afterwards was… “Oh shit, there’s gonna be 98 more of these?”.
I am 39 yrs old. Perhaps you’re saying, well it is aimed at kids and you’re too old for it.. Well.. i have seen other kid’s shows and have enjoyed them alot. Stuff like Jimmy Neutron, Ben 10, Samurai Jack… hell.. I have even enjoyed Powerpuff Girls. :)
My 7 yr old cousin watched the Clone Wars episodes with me.. afterwards he asked “Why was it so boring”.. he asked the same thing I was asking myself. It just didn’t cut it for me and it didn’t cut it for him either. The prequels aren’t perfect but I did enjoy ROTS alot. It was the best of all the prequels.. That’s all i have to say. :) Take care, peeps. :)

Hmmm, I’m almost 40, own a condo, professional in my field, and enjoyed the heck out of the Clone Wars.

Anyone looking for something cinematastic or groundbreaking needs to realize it’s a cartoon movie. If you’re looking for anything more than cartoon-on-cartoon violence, you’re in the wrong theater. Sure, it’s characters we know, and some of us love.

But it’s a cartoon movie. Enjoy it for what it is, or don’t … but really … the type wasted on this review is funny.

Call me a fanboy if you want, but really … it’s a cartoon movie. It’s a 90 minute escape from the here and now to events a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, nothing more.

Lucas was done after he did Raiders – everything since complete and utter crap.

Clone Wars is one of the worst excuses for a franchise ever made. I like many loved Star Wars, Empire and even Jedi – Really didn’t like the prequels, but this goes way lower than those craptastic attempts.

Clone Wars sucks monkey balls – Eat that.

I’m going to guess the review is dead on – those prequels were shit, no way round that, period.

Any defense of Lucas and co, past Empire is simply stupid.

I’m sure this animated attempt at redemption is worse – the trailers looks like poo for sure.

Geez. How negative can you be? The original films had the SAME type of dilaogue as the newer films and believe it or not, critics were split on Empire and Jedi when they came out too, or have you forgotten? Its easy to let 30 years of nostalgia wipe away what really happened. In fact, Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope were the best reviewed of the six on initial release. It seems like the kids who grew up with the classics simply wanted the series to grow up with them, and it didn’t. Oh and The Clone Wars was awesome. Eat it.
