you can do this easily on the mac:

1. make two text files, the previous list, and the new list.

2. sort them, at the command prompt type “cat file1.txt |sort > file1_sorted.txt” repeat for second file.

3. use “sdiff” to find the differences into two columns:

sdiff file1_sorted.txt file2_sorted.txt > differencesoutput.txt

4. you can also find who is new, who was removed, or whose name was possibly corrected or if a band was replaced with another band:

sdiff file1_sorted.txt file2_sorted.txt |grep “\>” > newbands.txt
sdiff file1_sorted.txt file2_sorted.txt |grep “\ removedbands.txt
sdiff file1_sorted.txt file2_sorted.txt |grep “\|” > replacements.txt

Is this the ENTIRE list, or just an update to add to the previously released bands? I ask because this list has some but not all of the bands from the previous update.
