Video: Joe Peppercorn – “Strawberry Fields Forever” (+ photos)

If you didn’t catch Joe Pep covering every single Beatles song in one night at the Treehouse on Tuesday, here’s a little flavor of what you missed, courtesy of Super Desserts’ Justin Riley. Photos below, also from Riley — some from cellphone and some from his camera with a homemade fisheye lens.

  1. What awful intonation. Hope he was stark raving drunk – or exhausted. No other excuse

  2. This is where I tell you to go fuck yourself. If you’ll notice he’s not in a studio nor does he have monitors. He may or may not have been exhausted but he wasn’t drunk. What he was doing was putting himself out there by undertaking an amazing feat while being the sole reason why hundreds of people had one hell of a night. But you wouldn’t know that because being a dick takes little effort at all.

  3. I thought Ben was kidding. Peppercorn is in the ridiculoulsly gifted marvelous human being category with Derek Dicenzo and Happy Chichester. Anyone concerned with intonation in a live setting should stay home and jerk off to their crappy Rush records.

  4. Can’t they use autotune?

  5. Autotune and good monitors are for rock and roll wannabes and pussies like you.

  6. After all this time it is as if no one has figured out that the vast majority of great singers cannot rock. They are lucky to get a slot on star search. Peppercorn can sing, though.and rock.

  7. sorry, i was drunk

  8. It’s okay. I was exhausted.

  9. My only new year’s resolution is to stop posting when I’ve been drinking. So I guess this is so long donewaiting. Cheers and happy new year.

  10. “Rock And Roll”

I do not think that phrase means what you think it means guy
