Saturday: Old Worlds/The Song Birds/Hawkline/Columbus Priority Mail @ Green on the Green (Worthington)

Green on the Green returns to the Worthington Village Green this Saturday (9am – 2pm). After last year’s inaugural event, GOTG organizers* will expand the event to cover 3 of the 4 Village Green corners (last year was just 1 corner) and have added music acts.

Bands performing this year include Old Worlds (“a cerebral cross between Explosions in the Sky and Minus the Bear”), The Song Birds (female-fronted country-folk for fans of Sheryl Crow, Nickel Creek), Hawkline (“Emotional rock ‘n’ roll along the lines of Elvis Costello or Neil Young”), and Columbus Priority Mail.

Green on the Green is a community festival providing visitors with a sampling of ways to “go green” including opportunities to buy re-purposed or recycled items, learning to appreciate native plants and animals, and educating folks on how to use less energy, produce less waste or adopt sustainable practices.

* Full disclosure: Green on the Green is being put on by Big Green Head. One of Big Green Head’s co-founders is my wife.
