Top 100 Buckeyes football players

The local albums thing worked out pretty well, so we figured, what the hell, why not try something with a slightly broader appeal?

Same deal... 20 per day until the paper comes out Thursday.

I love Columbus Alive so don't take this as direct criticism aimed only at that entity, but I find Top 10, Top 100, etc. lists to be lazy journalism.
Everyone and their brother does them anymore, with ESPN and Rolling Stone being the 2 worst offenders. ESPN does a top 10 ranking for NCAA football starting the last week of the PRIOR season.

End of year lists I am fine with, especially on music blogs, since I enjoy re-visiting the year's concerts/CD releases, etc. However rankings of sports players, guitarists, etc. - I am not a big fan.

My guess is the reason Top X lists are so popular is they are relatively easy to do, provide easy disagreements that lead to more comments/letters to the editor, etc. More page views perhaps?
