I wanna take a moment to talk about the true spirit of Columbus, what are somethings that embody that to you.

Here's a short list for me.

Peter Pan - There's always an onslaught of fresh, young faces. Even so many of ours buildings and newspapers are never old, never allowed to get old. I'm the only thing that ages around here sometimes.

Beer - It's like the constitution, the pledge of alligence, and the bible merged into one.

Politics - This is seriously one of the few towns where you can get in a real fight over an election that happened years ago.

Okay, if my ideas were so great, I wouldn't be asking you for your input.

School spirit comes to mind as an understatement. You can add as much or as little irony as you wish to that and run with it.

(Potential sub-heading: "Now with fewer couch fires!")

And, always with the smell of white bread baking... or south side smell???? Or stale beer. Don't forget the olfactory identity!

* Grids, grids, and more grids. Some of them offset at a 12 1/4° angle.

* football fanaticism

* drinking - what other city riots over beer (and football, of course)?

Columbus, OH is the t'ain't of America.

I love my country & i kare about the city i live in even more.
In the early 2000's my good friends BJ Holesapple & Adam Smith saved columbus, ohio from one of thee WOR$T kultural/financial disasters of all time- THE $LUMP

I always thought of Columbus as the city that "almost is/was."

I sincerely believe that this should be civic symbol of cowlumbus...
