i moved down here from toledo a few years ago and one of the joys of my 4 years in columbus was finding out that the house of meats/anderson's has invaded central ohio. house of meats (one of the stand-alone stores) was my primary butcher when i lived up there.

the only thing wrong with the house of meats down here is you don't always get the playful-but-surly butcher attitude that you get up in toledo. that and the plethora of samples on hot plates.

try the hungarian hot dogs. the natural casing dogs are great but the hungarians are mind blowing...

someone tell me about these dogs

I don't know if they changed their Veggie dog but I have to say that right now X-Wieners has THE BEST VEGGIE DOG IN TOWN
I have taken 3 trips there in the past 7-10 days and just last night drove out of my way to have a veggie Chicago and a PBR. Great Stuff! I agree with most that Veggie dogs normally suck (and I'm not a veggie-terian) but these are the shit I do not ever buy resturaunt hotdogs with any consistency unless they are Ted's Hotdogs in Western NY (char-grilled, beefdogs) but I now have a local place to buy veggie dogs...Yay

Nothing for nothing, still hands down, the very best hot dog joint around.
