I FUCKING LOVE THIS!!!! It was a tad shocking this morning when I tried to open the door and couldn't. We just saved a puppy from the pound and she is loving it... the snow is almost over her back.
I can't wait to play with her outside.

So is anybody going out tonight? We are thinking about heading up to Surly Girl. Figure once we hit high street, everything will be okay.

It is fun going through the provisions and trying to see what food I can come up with. I had everything needed for a chocolate cake with chocolate butter cream icing and have enough stuff to come close to chipotle chicken stew later.

my snowed in agenda today is the same as yesterday: coffee, tunes, DVD's/MSNBC, making stuff, laundry. made some chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast and just poured another cup of torrefazione deliciousness....

i'm showing some work here in the hood toward the end of the month and am grateful for lots of home time right now. i'm on vacation and don't have to be back to work till wednesday, so all this snow has been just fine with me.

edited to add: my partner in crime got his car stuck parking in front of the house after work. at one point, we had 6 strangers helping us dig out of 2-3 foot drifts so he could park safely. thanks to those dudes...i'm sure other people here had some random thoughtfulness thrown their way in the last few days...

I'm very happy to have a garage. If I could only pull out of it. I'm out of beer...

it only took me about 10 minutes to shovel a path to the car and clear a path for the car and get around. no problems on the road. but, I am an excellent driver! I thought it was more like 16 inches, but, who's counting?

Our neighbor owns a landscaping business and plows. He got us out and used his snow blower to clear our sidewalks.

Thank heavens it will all be melted by the end of the week. Stay tuned for my pictures of the Mighty Ohio breaking it's banks. It was already a flood stage before the storm and we are to expect 1997 like floods, because it is supposed to rain for four days staright this week.

It's going to be a wretched flood season down here.
