I'd say you can't separate economic freedom from any other freedom.

I don't really have a personal "goal" other than getting people the F out of my business. I'd prefer to live in a "civil", tolerant society, not one of cannibals and wannabe "authority figures". Government/Democracy, by it's very nature, always devolves into majoritarian warfare. Which is the exact opposite of civil, tolerant, society.

Alcohol consumption in public areas is wrong

John Palermini should have gone one step further with his July 17 letter to the editor about alcohol in public areas.

The Ohio State University campus, especially near Ohio Stadium and nearby parking garages, is owned by the citizens of Ohio. It is against the open-container law to be in these public areas with alcoholic items. Columbus police, along with other law-enforcement agencies, were on state property in these areas, enforcing the law with arrests and warnings.

As to Columbus public parks, my wife and I attended this year’s Festival Latino and felt very uncomfortable with all the beer and wine consumption. This consumption was in front of many young children and impressionable youth. Some families even allowed their underage children to imbibe.
