70% the same people as always, 30% people who only went 'cause it's at bodega, which i assume is somehow more in their 'comfort zone'. personally i dunno how you deny free tacos + beer no matter where it is, but i guess that's just me.
i vote for the elevator xxx for two or three hours over the whatever-i-want-even-though-my-first-two-choices-are-currently-out for an hour route. nice of them to do, though.
beggars can't be choosers, but those tacos el arapazo have been bringing aren't going to win them any new business. they didn't even bring cilantro and radishes like last time. their restaurant is EXCELLENT, but the tacos a HUGE crumbling alpo meh.

Apparently last night was the last one. Here's a quote from their blog, which pretty much summed up my opinion of last night... and was why I was only there for about 15 minutes.

"In anything you do there are defining moments. That defining moment for Dave, Bickis and myself occurred last night. The folks at Bodega were awesome, gracious hosts. The staff worked their asses off and quite frankly, I was really embarrassed to see how some of the attendees handled themselves. Double fisting beers and piling 12 tacos on plate like it’s their last meal ever on earth. Making a mess for everyone. Of course, that wasn’t the majority. I get that. I also understand free food and beer can bring out the best and worst in folks. We get that.

In the scheme of things it’s not about any one thing, but it really goes back to that one defining moment that gives you the insight to realize that collectively things aren’t working out. We had that moment last night when things were disturbingly flirting with mindless gluttony. And trust me, I do the same, but I try to avoid putting others out. We all get drunk and make asses out of ourselves. A key point with the event is to respect folks, respect community. Piling 12 tacos on a plate like you’re on the way to the electric chair is just tacky and well, disrespectful to the
other guests."

hey, just sayin' as many jagoffs as there were at these things, i never got turned off. although it seems a lot of people did before giving it a chance. hanging out amongst people you can't stand is kinda great sometimes, esp if/when you find that being somewhere you wouldn't expect to feel comfortable at all really isn't all that noticable. and i never grabbed more than a couple tacos at a time, though i'm sure at some point i had two little cups of beer on my person. not this past week, tho'.
