My wife and I have to go renew our drivers licenses on Monday (yuck), and I was wondering if anyone had any insight into the best place to go to do this. I know there are numerous locations in Columbus for renewal, but I'm wondering which are typically the least painful--hopefully not a lot of waiting, etc. If anyone's had any experience with this recently, for good or bad, I'd love to hear about it.

if you go in the middle of the day the one in whitehall (town and country center) usually isn't too crowded.

the one on kenny rd. (right off henderson) is usually fast and the people are nice.

There was one near my old office in Dublin...maybe Cemetary that was virtually no wait.

I've waited in line many times at the Kenny and Henderson office...I suppose it depends on when you go. But I've never had any problems at the BMV on Alum Creek, especially during the week (Saturday mornings can be bad, though).

The one downtown on South 3rd. St. across from the Greyhound station was amazingly fast (not many people go there).

the welfare class will be there by 11am, so get there at 8 or 9

i always drive all the out to the one off brice road across from anderson's general store and i've NEVER spent more than 5 whole minutes in line for anything. it's worth the extra li'l time behind the wheel to get in and out lickety-quick.

I've usually only waited five or ten minutes at the downtown one on 3rd street.

Kenny Road, as said before, is the place. Been there many times and always was in and out FAST. Another thing...Ohio no longer gives you the option to have your SS# on your license. Therefore, to renew you must bring your social security card. Bring it with you and save yourself another trip.

i've never waited more than 3 minutes at the downtown 3rd street location. bring a quarter for the meter and you're set.

We went to a shitty little place on Morse Road because it was on the way to somewhere else we had to go. It was full of slow-moving, elderly people who had a very difficult time with the eye test.

Before we went, though, I remembered an article in an old issue of Chunklet about a guy who had a bunch of amazingly ridiculous photos on his driver's licenses (photos were included). If you make a really stupid face right before your picture is taken, the person taking the picture will get mad at you and make you do it again without the stupid face. If you go in with a really stupid face and hold it the whole time, though, there's not much they can do about it because, as far as they know, that could be what your face actually looks like. I didn't have the wherewithal to do this...
