this will be the last weekend for OUTLAND at it's current location.

we'll be open this friday & saturday like normal, and then on sunday we'll be open and having a farewell-to-the-present-building party all night.

then we'll be closed for 6 weeks while we move into our new digs in the brewery district. which sucks, cuz 6 weeks without outland-tip-money is gonna get REAAAAAALLLLY interesting for me. maybe you'll see me behind the bar more frequently at the hi-5. i still gotta work all that out with them. or maybe i'll finally go get thatkitchen job at jeni's that i've been dreaming of.

anyway, i know most of you don't slum down to the goff bar, but i figured i'd give those that did a last chance to hit the place before it hangs up it's fangs . . .

I'm guessing the Brewery District might be a better location, though, huh?

hmm. Hard to say whether this falls under "sucks" or "good" since it means maybe more "tourists" and fewer Juggalettos or whatever.

Have to say, the current location has some interesting aspects to it, but ... wasn't that great either.

wow, brewery district seems so...I dunno...backwards-white-baseball-cap for the Outland. Hopefully it'll still be in some kinda hidden divey space??

I only went to the Hilltop Outland a few times, but it never seemed to be able to draw people. Which is probably why the move.

actually, saturdays are fucking packed in that place. fridays suck to high heaven (which is a drag, because the music is FAAAAAAR better on fridays) but saturdays are huge.

the move is coming down because a church is moving into the building adjacent to us, and they didn't want any kind of bar next door, so they bought out our lease. it all came together quicker than shit, and we had less than a week's notice that we would be moving . . .

Freakin' churches. That's the problem with this country.

well...at least that's one of them.

Hey Bastard Superstar, will the new outland be able to do bands. I only saw one show ever at the new old outland (snog) but I would be sad if there was nowhere for that kind band to play in Columbus.

The Legendary Pink Dots are touring this fall and Outland may be the best place for them to play in town. You should tell whoever books the shows there to do it. nudge nudge
