OK. You know them, you love them, they're the best way to eat Chinese food... it's the buffet.

What are the best ones you've seen around town? I need some new dinner destinations. Difficulty: I'm looking for *actual food quality*. Quantity and variety are nice, but I'm interested in the best tasting, best quality buffet in Columbus. Is it too much to ask for a reasonable price after that stipulation? Hopefully, no.

Don't know the name of the place but the Chinese joint on rt. 33 between 5th and Trabue has a pretty damm good buffet.

The place in the kingsdale shopping center has a decent, yet remarkably cheap buffet, I have only been there for lunch, not sure if they do it at night or not.

THE BEST is the Sunday buffet at China Dynasty Lane Avenue Mall in the rear. A little expensive though.

Well, I'll submit that one at Graceland as the worst quality. Really gross.

The best Chinese buffet for around ten bucks in Columbus is definitely the one in the shopping center near the corner of Dublin-Granville and Sawmill. Highly recommended.

not sure if it's still there, but the little Chinese/Thai joint on Bethel in the OP shopping center (Giant Eagle, MicroCenter) used to be the bomb. Not big selection but great quality, as in "I can't believe this is a buffet!" quality.

Otherwise, Chinese buffets are by and large an abomination.

The Hong Kong Buffet (although the name may have changed) at Reed and Henderson is pretty good for the price. You have the option of having things grilled to order while you are there.

Hunan Lion (i think) on bethel is goog for sit-down. don't know about any buffet.

that's why it's fun to go with friends and eat "family style" and share dishes!

Hunan Lion is pretty good, and one of the few sources of good veggie potstickers too.

oh hell yes! Seeing "Indian buffet" sets off a totally Pavlovian response in me.

There is a great place with a generic name "Chine Buffet", that is on West Broad past Doctors West on the right. Its right before you get to Hall road. When you walk in, you walk over a bridge of Koi before you get to a giant carving of Buddah. Its pretty good and at a decent price.

Pat, stop going to Chinese Buffets. They are horrible. If you want good Chinese, the only place to go is the mighty Sun Tong Luck over by the dollar theater at Bethel and Sawmill. Best. In. Town. Period. And no hydrogenated oil. Super nice people. Only downside is the styrofoam plates.

Sun Tong is very good.
