i'm sure the beef was fine, in fact, probably better than most 'licensed' beef sold at grocery stores that's pumped full of chemicals and raised in disgusting, inhumane environments that would make any decent human being cringe

at benevolence cafe about a month ago, the health inspector barged in and forced them to throw away hundreds and hundreds of dollars worth of tofu (which they then covered with caustic chemicals so hungry people like me couldn't recover the perfectly good tofu from the trash!), simply because their refrigerator went a degree or two over the required limit (which then went back down soon after said health inspector left!), and also used benevolence's simple green concentrate (which is also very, very expensive) to pore into all of their soups for some reason i didn't catch.
