so, is there anywhere in town that i can sell off old scanners/monitors/printers etc? other than craigslist? i've got too much of this crap around, and i'm willing to take next to nothing just to get it out of my life. but even a few bucks to put toward the 1.5 TB external drive i'm sizing up would be helpful.

There is, or at least used to be a place next to MicroCenter on Bethel that took/bought older computer stuff.
