yo folks,

i'm happy to say that one of my favorite indian restaurants is open again. it closed last year when the owner apparently wanted to retire, but apparently, others in the family decided to reopen it. it's in the same location as it always was... kenny center, but the buffet system has changed a bit.

they don't do dinner buffets anymore - only lunches. even so, it's the same food, and i'm totally stoked. make sure you go there so it doesn't close again.

I never cared much for the Punjab - the first time I ate there (a private wedding) was amazing, but every time I went back for lunch, I felt kinda sick afterward.

unP, are you sure you just didn't eat too much? i almost always feel sick after eating there, but it's from eating a ton of buttery goodness.

Matt and I tried it the other day. It was okay, but Taj Palace is WAY better.

haha. Maybe it was that I had eaten way too much....

Taj Palace is definitely my favorite Indian restaurant in town, but it's always nice to have a few options.

Regarding food-related updates:
There's a new Thai/Vietnamese place in the same strip mall as Min Ga on Bethel Road. Has anyone checked that place out yet?

I think taj palace is excellent. amul in powell is amazing too. however, punjab just has a special sentimentality to me because it was always the closest place to me with a good buffet. it's also less money than taj or amul.

I haven't checked out the thai place. i'll have to do that.
