I just discovered a new-to-me artist that I'm pretty excited about. Jonas Bergert. He's German. Contemporary. Apocalyptic. Not sure why I have never heard of him until now. I've been obsessed the past couple of days.

I used to do a lot of weird shit myself, but lately have not been painting much at all.

from my college days, this is part of a triptych, each on a 4'x8' panel, and is still in Columbus somewhere:


Here's one of the more recent things I did, which was used as a table top at a restaurant in Cinci. I was pretty pleased with the succotash, although (wait for it...) the meat looks totally fake.

Yeah, I remember that surrealist website from a while ago but I couldn't find it the last time I looked for it (*bookmarked*).

Those two origs are pretty cool! The foil looks sweet and the meat is passable. I'd say the stuffing needs a little refinement, if anything.

I'm going to get back into painting sometime in the next.... eeehhhh.... year or so.
