Iron Maiden must make a fortune on merchandise. I swear in 20 years i've never seen a higher percentage of people wearing the bands T-shirts at a show.

The show was good and I think i would have absolutely loved it back in the late 80's I just don't listen to maiden much anymore. They weren't quite as tight as I was hoping on the tempo changes. Seemed like it took them just a second to get locked in on the new groove. Sound was pretty decent for an outdoor show although it sounded a LOT different on the lawn than it did under the pavillion where we spent most of the show.

Unlike radiohead (my only other time at blossom) there was NO traffic at all getting there but the show was still packed. Not sold out but very full.

Warren Ellis: I have a soft spot for it. It's the compost bin at the end of my garden. And there's plenty of room in there for it.

I don't think I've seen a higher percentage of band members wearing the band's T-shirts at a show before.

I loved the show, but I wasn't that familiar with the "newer" material (the uh…17-year old songs) so I probably enjoyed the last tour a little more. Still though, it made me feel like I was in the 8th grade again to see them up there belting it out. And Eddie is always cool.

Also, a night at Blossom once again confirmed how lame Polaris was. Blossom is a gorgeous venue…it's made out of wood and looks like it just pushed its way up out of the ground. Vending in the back of the lawn area, lots of trees, and I felt like I was in line for the Beast at Kings Island while walking from the parking lot. The place has some great Feng Shui. Plus…FIRE! I was in the 14th row and could feel the heat every time they fired up those torches.

It was feekkinn awesome brah! My first Maiden experience. (or maiden voyage). It sounded and looked great. Lotsa Powerslave tunes, I wanted more Killers, less proggy Caught somewhere in time/ 7th son material. The first half of the set was amazing and I enjoyed the triple guitar onslaught. My favs included Ryhme of the ancient mariner, wasted years, hallowed be thy name, 2 minutes to midnight, etc etc. I liked all the ten thousand backdrops too. Bruce Dickinson has to be one of the greatest frontmen evar brah. SCREAM FOR ME OHIO!

So sad I missed this. My wife is the biggest IM fan in Columbus. In Brazil they have riots over this shit.

Scream for me Long Beach -- drunk line of the century?

howbout

"this is what not to do if a bird shits on you"

I loves me some Maiden. I didn't even know they were playing. :(

Snark, as far as prog maiden goes ... 7th son > somewhere in time

also, I really really like the album "brave new world" from 2000. i think it belongs in the maiden canon proper. Everything else from 1990 on pretty much blows though.
