It took about 11 or 12 listens until it started to make sense to me and I decided it was fantastic. That's pretty typical of Bob's stuff too of course. It slowly reveals itself like an answer to a complicated algebra problem that you struggle to solve up until the moment where you almost quit and then unexpectedly the solution blooms in your mind as if it had been planted there all along.

This is way better than a record that might challenge you like a 3D painting that didn't intrigue you at the start anyways and then after half an hour of squinting and then trying not to focus at all on the blury mess a gay red-orange dolphin suddenly emerges...and disappears like smoke...and sounds like Drivin' n' Cryin' covering John Mellencamp's Scarecrow album...
