Undercurrents will present the seventh in a series of free monthly music business networking parties, forums and songwriting workshops during June 2005 at various North American cities.

Coming to a region near you:
Akron, Atlanta, Baltimore, Charlotte, Chicago, Cleveland, Columbus, Detroit, Guelph, Indianapolis, Louisville, New York City, Norfolk, Raleigh, Richmond, Others.

Also, we are looking for artists for upcoming performances, gig-swaps, artist development and more.

AKRON, Ohio
The Akron Networking Party on Tuesday, June 14th, 2005 will be presented by Ryan Humberg, the acting Akron Regional Director for Undercurrents. This month’s forum will be held at the Lime Spider Nightclub located at 207 South Main Street in Akron. The topic is record labels.

ATLANTA, Georgia
On Tuesday, June 14th, the networking parties begin in Atlanta. The free Atlanta Music Business Networking Party will be held on Tuesday, June 14th, 2005 and will be presented by James Caldwell, the Atlanta Regional Director for Undercurrents. This month’s forum will be held at Akio located in Buckhead. The topic is “Succeeding in the Music Business – an Introduction to Undercurrents.”

BALTIMORE, Maryland
On Tuesday, June 14th, the networking parties begin in Baltimore. The free Baltimore Music Business Networking Party will be held on Tuesday, June 14th, 2005 and will be presented by Lisa Chaplin Suit, the Baltimore Regional Director for Undercurrents. This month’s forum will be held at the Funk Box, located at 10 East Cross Street in Baltimore. The topic is “Succeeding in the Music Business – an Introduction to Undercurrents.”

CHARLOTTE, North Carolina
On Tuesday, June 14th, the networking parties begin in Charlotte. The free Charlotte Music Business Networking Party will be held on Tuesday, June 14th, 2005 and will be presented by Laila Macs, the Charlotte Regional Director for Undercurrents. This month’s forum will be held at the Cosmos Café located at 300 North College Street in Charlotte. The topic is “Succeeding in the Music Business – an Introduction to Undercurrents.”

CHICAGO, Illinois
On Tuesday, July 12th, 2005, Anthony Bell and Jerry King will present the first of the Undercurrents networking parties begin in Chicago.

CLEVELAND, Ohio
The Cleveland Networking Party on Tuesday, June 14th, 2005 will be presented by John Latimer. This Undercurrents event will take place at Cuyahoga Community College – Eastern Campus Room E12-128, located at 4250 Richmond Road in Beachwood, Ohio.

COLUMBUS, Ohio
The Columbus Networking Party on Tuesday, June 14th, 2005 will be presented by Tim Armstrong, the Columbus Regional Director for Undercurrents. Panelists include Leon Bass attorney at law, Tim Minneci of Reverbose Records and Kristy Venrick of Nalaihah Records. This month’s forum will be held at Skully’s Music and Diner located at 1151 North High Street in Columbus. The topic is record labels.

DETROIT, Michigan
The free Detroit Music Business Networking Party on Thursday, June 9th, 2005 will be presented by Sue Summers and Anison Roberts, the Detroit Co-Regional Directors for Undercurrents. Anison Roberts will lead the discussion. This month’s forum will be held at 313.Jac / Jacoby’s located at 624 Brush Street in Detroit, Michigan just around the corner from St. Andrews Hall. The topic is music law.

There will be an open mic directly following the networking party with a $2 cover.

GUELPH, Ontario
The Guelph Networking Party on Tuesday, June 14th will be presented by Keith Thompson, the Guelph Regional Director for Undercurrents. This month’s forum will be held at Manhattan’s Music club located at 951 Gordon Street in Guelph, Ontario. The topic is record labels.

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana
The Indianapolis Networking Party on Tuesday, June 14th will be presented by Bob McCutcheon, the Indianapolis Regional Director for Undercurrents and panelists include Dan Metro of Tunebrokers Distribution, Dan McNeal of the Indianapolis Music Channel, and Bob McCutcheon of Backstage Records. This month’s forum will be held at Birdy’s Live located at 2131 East 71st Street in Indianapolis, Indiana. The topic is record labels.

LOUISVILLE, Kentucky
On Tuesday, June 14th, the networking parties begin in Louisville. The free Louisville Music Business Networking Party will be held on Tuesday, June 14th, 2005 and will be presented by Nick Peay, the Louisville Regional Director for Undercurrents. This month’s forum will be held at Magnolia Bar located at 1398 South Second Street in Louisville. The topic is “Succeeding in the Music Business – an Introduction to Undercurrents.”

NEW YORK CITY, New York
On Tuesday, June 14th, the networking parties begin in New York City. The free New York Music Business Networking Party will be held on Tuesday, June 14th, 2005 and will be presented by Richard Blair, the New York City Regional Director for Undercurrents. This month’s forum will be held at N.Y. Perks located at 193 Smith Street in New York City. The topic is “Succeeding in the Music Business – an Introduction to Undercurrents.”

NORFOLK / VIRGINIA BEACH / HAMPTON ROADS, Virginia
On Tuesday, June 14th, the networking parties begin in Hampton Roads. The free Hampton Roads Music Business Networking Party will be held on Tuesday, June 14th, 2005 and will be presented by Jo Blount, the Hampton Roads Regional Director for Undercurrents. Panelists include Daune McGill of D-Vine Entertainment. This month’s forum will be held at RDE Studios located at 5121 East Virginia Beach Blvd in Virginia Beach. The topic is “Record Labels.”

RALEIGH / DURHAM / CHAPEL HILL, North Carolina
The Raleigh Networking Party on Tuesday, June 14th will be presented by Kat Summers, the Raleigh / Durham / Chapel Hill Regional Director for Undercurrents. This month’s forum will be held at Havati’s Event Center located at 119 West Main Street in Durham, North Carolina. The topic is record labels. Panelists include Dick Hodgin of Osceola Studios.

RICHMOND, Virginia
On Tuesday, July 12th, 2005, Frankie Lewis will present the first regional networking parties in Richmond.

Undercurrents is currently interviewing individuals interested in being a Regional Director for their region of North America. Please e-mail mailto:jobs@undercurrents.com and attach your resume.

As with all Undercurrents Networking Parties, there will be networking opportunities, the renowned music demo listening, and information about future educational forums planned for the various regions in the Undercurrents network.

Musicians are encouraged to bring their latest demo CD or Tape, current contact info, and an attitude to learn about succeeding in the music industry. Musicians attending will be the first to know about our upcoming regional and national showcase details, gig swaps, and other music services also available through Undercurrents.

Forum attendance can be applied as college credit to those who qualify.

Future monthly forums will include panelists with expertise in topics such as: music marketing, record labels, radio airplay, recording, contracts, publishing, merchandising and more. Most regions have their networking party scheduled on the second Tuesday of the month – (not Detroit). Presentation times & locations may vary.
