if you haven't heard of it, the midwest music summit is an annual event held in indianapolis in august with artist showcases (over 250 bands last year), industry panels, a trade show, parties and more.
this year will be it's fourth year, and it keeps getting better. a bunch of bands/artists from all over the midwest get together to network, showcase and otherwise party. i've been to all three previous events and had a lot of fun at them all.
anyway, enough of my blathering.. check out the site at
http://www.midwestmusicsummit.com
if you're interested in playing a showcase, hurry and get your submission in (click "submit band" on the website) as submission will end june 25. NOTE: submission costs $25. this is NOT pay to play, the submission fee helps to pay our staff who literally have to spend days listening to all the submissions. bands that submit but aren't selected to play will have the chance to get passes to the MMS at a heavily reduced rate.
