this past week i had both the "green eggs and ham" and the "the razor's edge"
"green eggs and ham" tasted great, but might not be the best choice when you're looking for a really filling dinner pizza. i loved eating it, but it never felt like it "hit the spot" as it were. still a great pizza, and it made killer leftovers the next morning.
"the razor's edge" was the 1st pizza from davey i was a little let down in. but mostly because i wanted it to be almost dripping with curry, and as it was, you were lucky to taste the curry flavor on pieces of chicken and NOWHERE else in your bite. this should have been a spicier pizza, too. i liked the potatoes on it, but without them really carrying the curry flavor, i'd honestly just rather have another finnegan's bake. which is a damn-near perfect pizza. the razor's edge WAS good, and i DID finish it, but from my first couple of pizzas from mr.peepers the bar has been set pretty high. i'm sure i'll try another razor's at some point, but i've got a feeling i just want it to be something it's not.
but i tell you what, i don't know if it was the bacon on the green eggs, and the olive oil on the razor's but damn these were some greasy pizzas. the bottom of the box for both pies was wet, wet, wet! and the crust just seems to hold a lot of it in, and on each slice. i'd like to see a little less of that, without sacrificing too much flavor, but that's just me.
now if we can get a thai-peanut chicken and a jamaican jerk pizza, i'll never eat pizza from anywhere else . . .
