Coming to Columbus this weekend from Leipzig Germany is Simone Weisenfels. Simone is a really cool lady who has been performing in Europe for over 25 years. We met about 6 months ago and decided we wanted to make some music. So we are doing a little tour over the next couple of weeks, we'll be playing a string of dates in Columbus.
Simone is a classical and jazz musician/composer who's influences range from Frank Zappa, jazz drummer Jack Dejohnette, 20th century classical, to death metal bands like Necrophagist & Purgatory.
Simone is very active in many scenes in Europe. She performs with Orchestras, out-jazz groups, performance artists, and many DJs.
She's an aggressively creative woman who's hard to funnel. She is also super cool and has a really great attitude, sense of humor and a refreshing free thinking about music.
We have collaborated through sharing written music & swapping tracks over the net, but this will be our first venture into performing live together.
I am very excited to bring her here to the USA and to Columbus.
She is one of the most open minded and intelligent people and musicians I have met in a very long time. What we'll be doing is lots of spontaneous music mixed with some of her own strange and unique compositions.
Attached is a list of dates and locations. Many here in C-bus.
Come check this out, Simone is very excited about coming here and connecting with many different kinds of musicians & artists.
She has a passion and attitude about music that is very special.
...Oh did I mention she is a monster on the piano?....
Please feel welcome to email me on myspace with any questions!
All the best to each of you!
