Huh... Guess despite having closed up shop a while back, I'm gonna be Evil Empire Records for life on Donewaiting...
For the past year or so I've been self publishing a music themed horror and humor comic book anthology name Nix Comics Quarterly. (Among other spots, you can pick up copies Lost Weekend, Used Kids, Spoonful and Elizabeth's records. There are also free B&W PDF versions of back issues on my website if you want to check them out)
A lot of my regular artists are also local musicians like Matt Wyatt and Donovan Roth. My most frequent partner has been "El Blasto" himself Bob Ray Starker. When we decided to do a full, length western story, I thought it'd be best if we used all of his talents and make a 7" record to serve as the soundtrack to the comic book we were creating.
Of course, we're both broke as a joke, so we've created a Kickstarter in hopes of the getting a little help from the locals in terms of funding. Its kinda a two-fer if you think about it, you'd be supporting local art and local music in one fell swoop. Please pledge some to the project if you can and pass the information on to anyone else who might be interested! (There's a sample of the music from the record used in the video)
