actually, I like both boards and I don't mind that it sometimes turns into a CM vs. DW, it's two different worlds and I like it that way. Sure, CM is pure anarchy where freak flags fly high, but that's what's great about it. We like to throw poop at each other over there. But at the end of the day, we have our Batsignal happy hours where everything is right with the world....as long as we get really drunk. Here, I think the CM regulars are just a little surprised if anybody can stop starring at their shoes long enough to get get something posted, let alone something witty. I think it's all cool. Together, the two are like a mullet....business in the front, party in the back. Uh, I'd say CM is the back and DW is the front. But together it all looks good to me.

What cm.com is to me

I like cm.com. It is a funny bored. Sometimes I laugh at what someone posts. Sometimes I laugh at people. I might learn something too, but not very much. People are nice at cm.com, except pitbulls, but that's OK. He has special needs. Dimver is funny because he is insecure. Lynch is funny because there is something very wrong with him. cm.com is my friend. The end.

Not bad doood, not bad. But how about a "What dw.com is to me"? And, last time I checked, CRACKER wasn't very nice either.

I personally think CMC should tear up the whole site and start over again. What a depressing place, and I'm not even talking about the forums. (Which are depressing, yes, but.....) It's like they set up CMC with all this hoopla about supporting the "local music scene" (whatever that is) and having downloads available, and then, after a couple of "mixers" and getting the Watershed album up for eternal promotion, whoever is (was?) in charge just bailed and left the site there, promoting 2 year old albums and bands that don't exist anymore and out of town acts playing at Blues Station. That's it. Sure, every now and then, the main page changes, mostly to list shows at Blues Station, but over all, the site exists only to serve a fairly lame message board that's barely about music, much less "local" music. Mostly, it's a haven for the bored and the under-employed. The photos section, mostly self-promotion, but at least updated once upon a time, stopped two years ago, most of the bands listed on the site don't exist, and those band pages were *never* updated to begin with; some of the bands aren't even from the greater Columbus area. Frankly, if whoever is running it isn't into updating the site to at least reflect the current year, then what's the point? They clearly don't want the hassle of maintaining the site, or bothering with it too much. So why even have it? What's the point? It's not informational, it's not current, it barely seems functional. So pull the plug. Start over. The worst thing that will happen is that some people will suddenly have a little extra time during the day and everyone else will wander over here and either run the discussion lists to ruin or liven up the joint, depending on your take on things.

Now excuse me, but I hear that there's a Watershed CD out there. Anyone know where I can get a copy?

I like both "boreds" as well. I have no shame in admitting that I signed on here because CM.COM's board went down but I also had a legitimate post about my band's gig on Valentine's day.

I like this board's features a lot better. I like being able to have an avatar and private messages which went away when the CM.COM board went to ASP.

Anyway, like most of us over there, I am there to have a cool place to hang out on the web while I work. I help technoligically hopeless pediatric salespeople with their Pocket PCs over the phone and these boards help maintain my sanity during the day. Thanks to Trevor and Duffy, my workday isn't ALL business.

I for one, am grateful that this board exists.

dw.com is nice. The people who post here seem very nice too (except you know who). There is a lot of information on dw.com. I like that. It's not as crazy as cm.com, though. The end.

dw.com is a another board i visit at work, as you can see by how much i ve posted i lke it. i think duffy is a good egg ( i have never met the hamster that fuels cm.com). sometimes i have never heard of the bands people talk about here and i think to myself "are they making them up?", then i check out these bands and i reaally dig them.
belle and sebastian are not one of these bands.
