well, after waiting for over a year, the new chinese place has opened up in the old "china wok" spot by the thurber-giant-eagle. and i tell you whut: it was worth the fucking wait!!! OODLES: A NOODLE AND DUMPLING BAR is fucking brilliant. almost everything is under 7 bucks, has good sized portions and amazing flavors. i've eaten there like 5 times in the "under two weeks" they've been open, and i've loved everything i've tried on the menu. great phad thai, the shanghai noodles are uber-spicy, and the peanut chicken noodles are so gotdanged-coconutty-delicious that i crave the sauce constantly. the decor inside is just bloody adorable, the crew is seriously polite and attending. the manager even comes to the table to make sure we liked everything and if we had any suggestions for the dishes. living across the street from this place is going to be the death of me . . .

yeah, until last night, my portions had been huge. it's something i'm gonna keep an eye on . . .

I have been around the block when it comes to noodles. Oodles makes some good noodles.

either way, I felt let down. For the same $ I can go to a decent Thai place for noodles, get bigger portions and often larger vegetarian selection (and without chicken).

Wasn't bad, but... meh, I say.
