So, I just found out yesterday that my building is being converted into Condos over the next year. I have the option of buying it as-is or with all or some portion of the planned upgrades.

It's being bought and converted by Corso-Gallicchio-Swanson (CGS)/Brico. Yeah, ya probably know those names from several clubs around town including the one my company party was at last night.

I've considered buying a house/condo in recent years - mainly so I owned something of value that gained value. Until this the rent on my current place has just been hard to beat. I've been here 10 years and don't really look forward to moving. So maybe this works well for me ... get a customizable condo without having to move.

I know a few others here have done a little condo research in recent months. I'm looking to pick yer brains. So, to get things going ...

What's the going rate for a townhouse condo (2 bdrm, 1.5 baths, basement, dinning room, living room, and kitchen) in the Short North/Long North/Garden District area?

Any one have experience with CGS?

I recently bought a condo in Dublin, but my situation probably won't be of much help. It's a newbuild from Lifestyle Communities, s'posda close on it next month assuming the weather doesn't push things back too much. Anyway, some useful stuff:
