best fancy: The Refectory- generally 3-5 course French

seafood (believe it or not in Columbus) - Columbus Fish Market - great fresh fish, and fresh oysters! Narragansett Bay, Puget sound, Washington state, NY blue points, all fresh and delicious- the selection varies

You really can't beat a Ruth's Chris fillet- once again, not local, but super quality, presentation, and service

I have eaten nothing else notable in this fair borough, sadly.

I am jonesing for some honest southern meat and three action; and if any place does decent fried catfish, please 'fess up

Mexican- sorry, I love Chipotle
Greek- Firdous
Sushi- Haiku
Smoothies- Bubbles
Ice Cream- Jennie's or Coldstone
Bread- Omega
Green Bean Casserole- Surly Girl

My faves:

Whole World (Clintonville), longest-running vegetarian restaurant in town. If you're looking for great soup (served with awesome just-baked bread) they have 3-4 every day. Real nice soup. And magical house salad if you try the Asian Sesame dressing. Everything I've had there makes me very happy.

Surly Girl (Short North) is my "can't fucking decide where to eat" place, and I'm never sorry I went there. Especially 3 vodka martinis later.

China Dynasty (UA), except for that prick waiter. Prick.

Aladdin's (Clintonville), is a fantastic cheap Lebanese place for Mediterranean foodies.

Hounddog's (N. Campus / Cville) spicy sauce is like crack.

Barcelona (German Village) is great, and has the most underrated outside seating in town. On a warm summer night yathinkyerinheaven.

Northstar Cafe (Short North) has some very nice recipes, with tip-top ingredients, even if the cat is outta the bag. Still the best veggie burger I've ever had. Looking for the new one in Clintonville...

Alana's (Wash Beach) is fantastic food if you want to spend the money. Why haven't they moved, though? That building blows it.

Barcelona is ok, but is not wheelchair accessible; I was not impressed enough to go back after my dining experience- what am I missing?

Are there any good places for tapas in the city?
