Hello sluts.

Tascam 388 1/4" tape machine, $500. I want to sell it locally as it weighs around 80 lbs. A classic son! Most engineers have fond memories of this beast.

I bought it around 2001 from music go round. Before I put it away it was serviced by Abell audio around a couple years ago. It hasn't been used in a while so it's pretty much ready to go. It uses 456 tape. That is the formula it likes best. I might have a couple reels lying about.

I really am torn about selling it but it just takes up so much space and now that I use ProTools so much it's really useless to me. I always am like "geez I should record the drums to the 388 and then bounce it in to PT" but this is a process I don't have time for anymore.

This peticular machine recorded the second Rancid Yak Butter Tea Party, 333's Ephermal Fate (did I spell that wrong again), the first Nightsoil EP, and a bunch of other stuff that is sweet that you have never heard.

Damn, if only I had 500 bucks. I would buy that thing from you in a heartbeat.

Oh well. I think I'm going to record my next album on a fostex 4 track cassette recorder, and then fly it into protools, and then mic the mix in mono to a shitty boombox, rinse, wash and repeat.

For sale, one used Sony D8 Dat Machine. I used this for about a year and a half, and did approximately 100 hours of recording. You always hear horror stories about D8's breaking, but i never had one problem with this. Is great for recording concerts, or your own music in your home studio. There are a few minor cosmetic scratches, but nothing major. I took really good care of this. I will throw in 50 Dat tapes- they are used, but if you are recording your own music, they work fine to tape over. Comes with the original box, the original instruction manual, the Power adapter, and the battery holder. Backlight works fine. All and all it was a great D8, and I just dont use it anymore.

I can also throw in the 7 Pin connector, that has the digi-audio out/in, but, it was working spotty last I remember.
