As if the fanatical religious arent enough to contend with, with all their clever license plates...now we have to contend with a made up Paperback religion? Plus they wanna locate in Grandview! ahahah...Thats funny.

OK, so the Scientology people have somewhat of a local headquarters down the block from where I work (kinda looks like a Christian Science reading room, but with only L. Ron. Hubbard's books), and on Saturday one of the Scientology fellows came in and personally invited us to some sort of party for "Mr. Hubbard's birthday" (the man is dead) somewhere in Arlington or Dublin (can't remember. Tuned it out). I guess the local chapter really digs Cafe Brioso, as the dude pointed out. The invitation was driven home with him asking: "Can we count on some of you coming?" Anyway, there has got to be a connection to this story.

None of us went to the party. On Monday, a different dude, also a regular, came in shortly before we closed, bearing gifts for all of us. My friends, I am proud to tell you that I am now the owner of a DVD entitled "Scientology - An Overview". On the back cover it says - and I quote - "It is the only major new religion to have emerged in the 20th century. It is growing at an incredible rate. People from all walks of life use it every day. Its followers number in the millions. WHAT IS SCIENTOLOGY?"

I was very excited to bring it home, but I haven't watched it yet. I'm thinking of having a party, though. There is evidently about 4 hours of stuff on this thing. And it all just fell into my lap. I know -- I'm not special. But somehow I feel special just for having this thing.

Man, those people are idiots.

As a side note, I should point out that I'm still looking for musicians and collaborators for my idea. It is a prog/psych/HEAVY Scientology-based band called L. Ron Butterfly. Oh, you think it's a cheap laugh? I think it could be truly sweet.

i want in on either the video-party or the band. i'm not sure which one, though. . .

better watch what you say..These folks are very spiteful and tend to take things to a whole other unescessary level. This sites way f'd up.
