I read about this on the Consumerist blog, and it seems cool to me. There is no personal info, just name and badge number from public information requests. They're public employees, they should be scrutinized by the public they serve.

Well, as someone who's had the pleasure of being rated on "rate my teacher," I can say that these kinds of ratings really aren't fair or representative. Some people just flat out lie on them, but the biggest problem is that people who've had positive experiences just don't go to these websites, so they tend to be overwhelmingly and unfairly negative.

The anonymous comments I get are often hilarious, though, and it's interesting to see what people think of me, what kinds of jokes they make about me, and how sexy (or mostly not) they think I am.

this will only work if there is some kind of supervisory interaction with the site from the justice department's end. this isn't like the rate your professor thing where we all make an informed decision on what class to take....you never have a choice who is going to arrest you or pull you over.
