Goddamn it. When you are on the on ramp to the freeway please, please use the gas pedal. Fucking floor it so you can merge properly. Nothing like trying to merge into heavy truck traffic going a cool 35 MPH while screaming at some asshole in front of you to get off the fucking phone so you dont get your bald dumb ass smashed by two tractor trailers going 65. And then it happened again. I love my home state and all, but we produce some of the worst drivers ever. I think it is becuase it is too easy to drive here. No hills, no real traffic, just flat and plain, a zillion cops, everyone needs tons of space. Maybe I should just get my fat ass a bike like ramirez there. And then I can get even more stressed when some inner-city hillbilly tries to run me over in his cutlass supreme. Goddamn it.

yep. accelerate when getting on the highway, don't wait until the last second to merge, get off the damn phone and in residential areas is it really necessary to come to a complete stop before turning into a driveway???

difference is in ohio, drivers suck because they're totally oblivious (phone, texting, eating burritos). In boston and new jersey, they suck because either even though they see you, they just don't give a shit about you or they're actively trying to kill you.

I once had some douchebag in a Ford Festiva think I was honking at him for not going (wasn't me but I heard the honk) at the light on Hudson where you turn right to get on 71S. Some car across the freakin street honked at some other car, and the guy shoots me an angry look in the mirror and flips me off, then proceeds to drive at 5mph, finally speeding up to 20 or so on the actual ramp. The whole time he and his whole highschool entourage are turning around and giving me the frowning of a lifetime.

It's times like this I wish cell phone numbers were published on the license plate, so I could call the dickwad and tell him it wasn't me that honked but that now I am pissed at him, and what a good job he's doing. Jerkface.

I think step driving schools need to spend more time on Yield VS Merge. People have problems with that.

I took a trip last year from Phoenix to Las Vegas with a friend of mine from Brooklyn. He drove 104mph the whole way and I shit my pants exactly 4 times. East coast drivers are combatants to be admired.

heh - I prefer an aggressive bad driver who can at least pay attention to the other kind. Cincinnati is worse at merging - seriously. Someone could be several lengths in front of you on the ramp, and going fast enough to merge, yet they slam on the brakes as they enter the highway?

Another pet peeve I've noticed is worse here: what I call the macho-no-pass. Someone is driving more slowly than you are, so you go to pass (highway or not) and they speed up so you can't. Or on the highway, they get over (eventually), then speed up. What's the point of this? Look, I don't care who's in front, I just don't want to do 40 in the fast lane, then struggle to pass you as you get over and speed up to 80.

3 different times today on the way home from work (north on 315) I got stuck in the left lane behind motherfuckers doing 55 - 60 MPH. If you can't drive at the speed limit or above it, GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY WAY! That makes me madder than anything else mentioned in this thread. I'm always wondering why traffic comes to a standstill at the hospital curve especially when I break free and realize that 9 times out of 10 it's just two people driving next to each other at 55 that causes everybody behind them to have to slow down.

If you're getting this upset about driving, maybe you shouldn't be driving. If it helps, just think of all the people who have died so that you can get from point A (home) to point B (Target) to pick up more toilet paper to wipe your ass with.
