I used to bake the breads for CM restaurants, and yeah, he is, but he also treats his employees relatively well, offers insurance, etc., and seems all right despite being an arrogant ass.

Actually, my first encounter with him was pretty amusing: he saw the dark molasses bread (as featured at the Brew place) walking by one morning, picked up a loaf and said "this is burnt."

I just said, "no it's not" and went on with my work. He stared at me for a second, aghast that I was talking back and not suckin his knob or something I guess, then walked away. About 10-20 minutes later, he came back and said, "oh, this is the molasses bread?" and I said "yes" and he walked away again.

I think that was sorta like an apology or something? But yeah, the food's not bad, but the atmosphere sucks.

FYI, with the Dispatch restaurant reviews, the primary food critic has another business interest that "coincidentally" has many of the "favorite" restaurants as clients.

as for CM, great business man, not a great chef.

I know there are plenty of decent restaurants here...and this is a decent thread about those decent restaurants. But I can't help but dwell on the fact that this is the place where people get married at White Castle.

i had dinner at M last november and the whole experience was amazing. food was excellent and the service may have been the best that i have ever had in any restaurant. it wasn't loud in the dining room. at the end of the night, it cost a few scheckels, but was well worth it.
