Just saw one this weekend in Dublin with a Germain tag, wondering if anyone else has seen one around.

If you have no idea what I'm talking about, here's a and pic:

They're rated 50 mpg with an 8.7 gallon tank, which will be nice when gas hits 5 bucks a gallon this summer.

Yeah...I just saw one of those a week or two ago. I also saw an article about them in the last week, though I can't recall where it was.

I've seen 2 or 3 different ones (different colors) around gahanna. I think there's a place over at Easton that sells them.

There's a really tall guy in my neighborhood that has two of them.

Uses them for roller skates.

Getting two of these would solve my two-car-one-garage issue as they would both fit. I don't mind parking outside in the summer, but winter's suck (all around, really).

The diesel version gets about 70 mpg. Just need to figure out where to stick a guitar amp in 'em.

I'd love to have one, "deathtrap" or not. Hell, a lot of big cars are death traps too, as are my bikes, but they're still nice to have (especially when I can go 100 miles on $5-6 of gas on it). It would be like having another scooter, but with a roof (and better than that Honda).

I read in Car and Driver that the Smart Cars don't even get very good gas mileage. Apparently, they only get about 26mpg, which considering their size, is pretty damn bad.

My 94 cavalier averages around 32mpg, and it's a solid metal beast!

I test drove one of these last summer, I think when they were trying to get them selling in dealerships here.

I have to say, I'm into the gas mileage, and I've seen some crash test videos with good grades.......but just the feel of driving the car didn't feel safe at all. It definately seems like it runs on AA batteries, and half of the interior just feels like its assembled from additional peices you can buy for the Wii. And honestly, I couldn't help but feel like the biggest weeeener driving that thing around....sorry, at the end of the day, earth and the environment are both cool and all, but aesthetics still play a significant role in my willingness to love them.

You people are pussies. Try riding a bicycle, scooter, or motorcycle around for a few years, then come back and let me know how much you'd love it if more people drove moderately sized vehicles instead of the Testiculator 4000 V20 monster truck.
