Yowza! My poor cat is freaking the fuck out! About an hour ago some car drove by my house blaring Ministry's "NWO". That always signals a coming storm.

I was at an outdoor(-ish -- there was a tent) press conference when the storm hit. From the crowd's reaction after one particularly close bolt of lightening hit, I imagine several pairs of expensive pants got ruined during the storm. Not that I, uh, didn't jump 10 feet in the air myself.

This was my street. The tree hit the car across the street so hard it broke the axle and squished the wheels out. thankfully no one was in it. It was hard to even get a picture of it, it was so buried in wood. The black car seemed to be fairly unscathed. The tree yanked down powerlines in two places farther down the block, so there's been a cop sitting at the end of my street (doing nothing that a barricade wouldn't do) since 7:00 last night.

I get to leave work, water damage...

I'm in Iowa.

Round II?

I'm in Lancaster, but it wasn't so bad. I saw the clouds coming in the distance, and decided to "beat" the storm and ride my bike about a mile to the convenience store to get a 6 pack. (I have a Schwinn Varsity bike, no motor, haha)

The drop in temperature was really drastic. At the start of the ride, it was muggy. By the time I got to the store, there was a drop in temperature of prolly 20 degrees. Clouds were all scary lookin'. Lighting struck twice on my way back. Then I was soaked by the downpour.

Ahhhhh....what I wouldn't do for beer.......

OK, still no comparison to IA, but damn, the thunderstorms early this morning knocked out our power AGAIN for 4 hours. That's the third time in a week... I'm starting to feel like they've got more reliable power in Baghdad.

Grandview totally flooded again around 5:30 AM. almost got my car stuck.

That Friday storm flooded 315 @ broad again but this time I was on the highway.

We were the last car to sneak through and had to drive in 2 feet of water. The best part about this was being on 315 with no traffic behind me for a mile or so, weird and fun. I wanted to do donuts but the girlfriend kinda freaked out when i started using it as one big lane.
