Is political correctness part of the constitution now :?: :?: :?: That cartoon is just dumb.

CARTOON MAY NOT BE THAT COOL, BUT I DON'T THINK YOU GET IT.
THE PC COP IS KILLING FREE SPEECH, PRESS ETC. P.C. IS NOT PART OF THE CONSTITUTION AND HOPEFULLY WILL NEVER BE.

personally i don't think it is cool to create things, art or otherwise that hurt people in anyway. and i do not believe the flyer was created w/ that intent.

furthermore i believe in freedom of expression. not freedom of expression as long as it falls under some certain criteria.... fuck that.

but whatever, i've wasted enough time. reading this this got boring along time ago.

People like you, btw, are the second reason why I decided to say something earlier. You're welcome to explain why you have more right to use racial slurs than I have to request that you don't, but you'd best be sure I'm in a good mood. In case you can't tell, this is not one of those times.

oh yeah, and "people like me?" you don't even know me. i never used a racist slur, nor do i. nor do i think it is cool to use them, it's quite ignorant actually. but i also think it's stupid to pull the race card on a flyer that doesn't have a racial slur on it. yeah the flyer is dark and cryptic and probably says alot of different things to differnet people. to me i didn't think much of it. sorry.

Or, or...or we could call you "people who pull the There Is No Criterion card"

personally, i support the abolition of anti-censorship: in all it's forms.

But i'm also against people censoring me in my zealous campaign for censorship.

Well that's a connundrum isn't it? i guess were jist gonna have to solve this the ol fashioned way and go to a punk show and beat each other up.

She beat me to it. You, Stinky, are not demonstrating the ability or willingness to differentiate between political correctness and common consideration. I'm not accusing anyone of being racist or making any extravagant demands. Your continued insistence that nothing is wrong (worse actually, since you seem to be saying that I am at fault for pointing out something that bothers me), simply because you can't see it, makes this into a bigger issue than it has to be.

The type of image being shown has historically been used in place of (and along with) verbal slurs as a form of propaganda, in pre-civil-rights era America. You don't have to care about it; just respect my right to care about it and discuss it. If you don't like being mischaracterized, then choose your words more carefully and I'll show you the same consideration.

I think we have enough material from this thread for flyers for the next 10 years of gigs. Thanks, D.W.

i hear ya. my bad. i didn't mean to come off sounding like you did not have a right to your opinion. or that i didn't respect your opinion. if i came off that way i apologize....and yes maybe i did not properly differintiate p.c. and common consideration. being considerate of others is something we all should try to be better at i guess...

...so how about this beautiful weather were having this week.

everyone have a good weekend!!!

Those were innocent days, weren't they?

Remember back on page 3 when the person who brought this up stopped posting?

Remember when The Birthday Party used swastikas on their record cover?

While this thread isn't ABOUT the Unholy 2, it is totally about the Unholy 2. At least from the perspective of the liberal media. I expect a story in the Other Paper. Hopefully with Mike Coleman quoted.

This song is for Columbus' number one band - The Unholy 2.

Yes, yes. Stuff you don't care about is gay. I'll make a note of it. Does anybody else wants to post in this thread about how they don't care about this thread?

Thank you. All I wanted was to get these misunderstandings cleared up as civilly as possible. And thank you to Ramirez (in all seriousness) for giving me some insight into the creativity behind the flyer. If that's an accurate representation of the artist's intent, then I support the statement conceptually, and hope that The Unholy Two will take my remarks constructively.

he did pretty much decipher the whole flyer except the part about Pitchfork, which was a personal dig on certain people missing a certain person's birthday party to attend a certain music festival (persons whom had bought tickets and planned long in advance, btdupples). my point was that that was really the only esoteric part. sometimes it hard to be clear when you're trying to only make one person laugh. let us all just kiss.

i think it's weird that it's a convention to say "bless you" after you sneeze, considering that the expression originated from the idea that a soul, who had possessed your body, had just been released...

or that the word "punk" was originally a slang expression for a gay male prostitute...

"bless you" must certainly mean something else to those of us who say it now, but, it's a bit abstract that a certain amount of the population is not only offended, if no one gives them this "courtesy", or whatever the hell it's turned into, but, feels it is their obligation to perpetuate the phrase (without realizing how fucking crazy the idea was in the first place). so what's it mean, now?

of course, it's a little odd that 30-some years after punk was born and quickly buried (or, at least, that was the "original" idea, at the time) we still describe our music as punk. gay prostitute music? hey, that is pretty rock n roll...

...but who cares?

i guess, maybe, you should go to the source whenever you see an image, or hear a sound, or have a sensation that seems really fucked up and you're not very sure why it's bothering you

everything goes back to the Source, my friends

without it, you may end up being a star-bellied sneetch one day and a no-star bellied sneetch the next

:?:
