Where do you buy a rain coat this time of year?

I need to buy a lightweight, hooded rain coat in the next two weeks.
I don't want to pay more than $30.
I would prefer something I can buy here in town, rather than on the Internet, because I want to make sure it doesn't make that SWICK SWICK SWICK noise when the fabric rubs against itself.

Any ideas?

decent raingear under $30 is a tough one. you're lookin' at PVC-coated fabric in that price range, or some coated nylon that is 'weather resistant'. If you can stomach 60 bucks, google Marmot Precip. comes in lady sizes, pretty colors, super light weight, no frills.

I basically just need it for four days in Seattle, so I really don't want to pay a lot of money.

I will check out Burlington soon.

If worse comes to worse, I will just carry an umbrella, but apparently only tourists carry umbrellas.

I've got a Marmot coat and that thing is a motherfucker. I wear it when I ride my bike and it is like 0 degrees and sleeting outside. It keeps me warm and dry and breathes very well. I bought it used and it's a total champ. It's real ugly tho.

I also had a rain jacket I bought at Wal-Mart for $20 when I got caught in a thunderstorm and had no top on my car. It lasted about a month before it started to rip, plus it was sort of like wearing a trashbag in terms of breathability.

I'd say spring for the $60 Marmot and have a nice raincoat forever.

I bought a coat and was promised marmot or better, but I suspect it's actually squirrel or possibly (god,I hope not) rat. Still keeps me warm though, so what the hell.
