9 days later, grace has come home! she wandered into a neighbor's house today. a little skinny but seems to be doing A-OK

good news. I thought this was about a local jazz musician, at first.

Good news. We had our eyes open, some of us got the fliers in our mailboxes. One librarian's cat got out this year just down the street from you, and she slept on the floor by her open back door. (Resist filthy jokes, y'all.) She was found cornered in the bushes by an alleycat. More than a few house cats seem to crave outdoor odysseys and a little tangle. Glad to hear you got your kitty back.

I know there are a lot of people who think that cats are loners and ornery and don't make a good companion like a dog. But those people have never had a moment like this:

My cat greets me when I return home just the same as my dog does.
