derek anderson's return to the starting qb position for the rest of the year isn't enough to cheer you up?

Lauranitis would be a nice physical presence, but I worry he's overhyped a bit (Katzenmoyer anyone?).

On the bright side, after Crennel gets fired and Bill Cowher comes aboard, things should start to turn around.

They can deal Anderson for a pick to a variety of teams (Minnesota? Kansas City?), and start Quinn fresh in the offseason. Maybe they can send Braylon over to Jerry Rice's house and teach him how to properly catch a football.

The d-line is better, but the secondary is awful. They also need to retool the RB situation. They have one over-the-hill bruiser and a bunch of tweeners. For the love of God I hope they stay away from Chis Wells. They should try for a guy like MSU's Javon Ringer in the 2nd. He's very Chester Taylor-ish and would do well in a one-two punch system like Tennessee uses. The other guy they should get is Maurice Morris from Seattle, who is an unrestricted free agent at the end of the year. Dude's got great hands and is under the radar. Put Morris and Ringer together, it'll be better than the old days of William Green and Lee Suggs.

I agree about Laurinitis being potentially overhyped. I don't think he'll be like the Big Kat, but there are better players for the Browns to take over him.

I would love for them to take Beanie though.

And if Romeo goes, I hope they fire Phil Savage too.

Anyone remember when Alex Boone was considered a 1st round pick? :lol:

On the up side, they had a good Defensive stand against the Colts on Sunday, who I think were on Mushrooms. And Anderson is out for the year for torn ligaments on Sunday.

Put all your money on the Bengals to beat the 13.5 point spread against the Colts. The Colts haven't beat an Ohio opponent by more than 6 points in the past 6 years. They'll all be dropping acid.

Face it. The Browns need a lot of help. They need a running back and a wide receiver that can actually catch the ball. Anderson is a turnover machine and they waited a year too long to trade him. They won't get much at this point especially if his injury is serious. As for Brady, you better hope he pans out, I'm still not sure about him. The defense is pretty good but too much is asked of them.

Beanie Wells is scary for two reasons: 1. He's a freak. 2. He's injury prone. I would take the running back from Alabama(?), definitely a running back though.

They need a new coach, a new system and a new culture up there. On the bright side, the Stillers are still awesome.

Lauranitis is a good football player and seems to be a genuinely nice person. I hope he has a great career in the NFL.....wait for it......HOWEVER, I have always felt that he was a tad overrated (and I hope I am wrong). Katzenmoyer was a true prodigy. I seem to recall in near every game he played (started as a freshman, IIRC) he would paste someone or more than one opponent. He was an unstoppable linebacker and as coydog stated, his injury ended the dream.

Looks like your (all y'all) Browns and my Bills will be back in the Top 15 drafting again. Awesome! Hopefully both coaching staffs will be axed by the Monday morning after the last game. Goddammit I'm so fucking frustrated. I don't know why I continue to put myself through this year after year.
