Where can one find a good gyro near Clintonville? I would be willing to travel as far as Worthington or even Grandview, if the lamb is tasty.

ever since the place next to silverball arcade/subway closed, the ONLY place i'll get 'em is buckeye donuts. fuck apollo's and fuck happy greek. seriously fuck that place. 7 dollar gyros? are you fucking crazy?!?!?

also, that acropolis place up near graceland on high, in what obviously used to be a zantigo, isn't bad, just not worth the drive for me . . .

There's a place, Pita something-or-other, right next to Bob's Bar that knocks the shit right out of the park.

Also I like Nazareth Deli at 161 and Cleveland Ave. in Columbus Square. The food is super good, pretty cheap and Hani who runs it is one of the nicest guys ever. Get the fries with hot sauce with your gyro.

So I haven't tried it yet (and I don't eat read meat), but what I have had there has been really good - Lavash Cafe on High Street across the street from Crestview Market. They also have a chicken "spit" for gyros that they make themselves from chicken breast.

Yeah, please let us know what you think especially if you can get someone to try the chicken gyro.

There is a brand new place on the corner of 15th and high that has solid potential

Guys. The gyro shoppe on Henderson Rd. kills. Great fries great price and the staff is excellent. Seriously, drive an extra five minutes to this place it's awesome.

Easy Street has a good gyro too.

Pita Hut is okay, but the meat is chopped up super fine, so it is more of a shwarma than gyro. The place on Henderson is pretty killer. If you make it out to the east side (which I avoid whenever possible), check out King Gyros on S. Hamilton. As previous owner of the place, I am a little biased, but it is all traditional greek recipes that the owner lifted from his mother who still lives in Mykonos.

as someone who works next door to the new place on 15th and high, let me say that it is second only to pita hut.

great falafel. the gyros are comparable to buckeye donuts but maybe just a bit better. lots of different homemade sauces that are delicious (try the hot sauce).

they just opened two weeks ago and i have been there for lunch almost every day since. it is cheap and delicious. homemade french fries. the owner gives you free samples anytime he has something new (like a lemon chicken soup that is unreal). ask for the pressed chicken: chicken, potatos, cheese, and hot sauce stuffed into a pita and then pressed in a panini grill.
it is truly God's Hot Pocket.

You don't. The Gyro Shoppe is that good.

1. Gyro Shoppe
2. Acropolis
3. Easy Street
