Recently started checking out the variety of deli's around town. I usually go with a reuben the first time I go anywhere. So far I've been too:

Katzinger's
New York Deli
Ohio Deli (had the Dagwood, not timed)

Planning on trying the Jason's in Dublin and The Brown Bag, but wondering if there are any other really good deli's around town.

Tasi...it's as much a casual restaurant as a deli, but they do have a deli counter and I've never had a bad sandwich or dish there.

The Brown Bag is very good. I love Katzingers too but feel like i need to back up the Brinks truck any time I go there.

Other good ones:

Spinelli's in Victorian Village

Caroline's Deli in the Belmont Building (Long and Neil, near new Clippers stadium) beats the socks off Spinelli's

Danny's Deli on Front St., just south of Broad. Get the grilled Reuben and a tube of Thousand Island dressing.

man, i HATE 1,000 island dressing on reubens.

god intended it to be made with Russian dressing, you know, the red stuff (my god did anyway, and my god is an indian that turns into a wolf).

anytime i get a reuben i have to get it to go sans dressing so i can take it home and do it up proper.

katzingers and brown bag are the only two i usually go to, i'll have to try some of these folks.

when i worded at the main-branch li'bary, i LIVED at brown bag.

spinelli's is damn good, but it never really comes off like a deli to me. but it's across the street, so fuck yeah!!!

katzinger's would be great, if i could get past the thought that i could go grocery shopping for what it costs to get one lunch there . . .

catphish007 - are you talking about Carfagnas kitchen up on Polaris? That place is good, but I haven't had a sandwich there. Or are you talking about the place on 161?[/quote]

The one on Polaris, but sometimes I go to the one on 161 to buy the meats to make my own sammiches

When we lived in German Village, Mr. Duffy and I used to go to Katzinger's frequently. I'm secretly glad we moved out of that neighborhood, because I am not a big Katzinger's fan. The prices were a turn off, but my main problem was that the sandwich was too freaking big to actually bite into. And the bread they used was always so hard that it actually hurt to eat the sandwich.

Dressing should always be on the side so I can throw it away.

The little Corner Store Deli just south of North Broadway on High St was surprisingly good the one time I went. I will have to go more to investigate. I love me some spinach tortilla wraps. Also, does Cafe Brioso count? Good pesto sandwich.

Dude that's the Cornerstone Deli: Like Como or Lakeview and High...

It fucking sucks. Granted, I haven't been since last year when my italian meats sandwich came with three thin slices.

Then it sucked. so fuck-em.

Cornerstone is on Longview and High. It's OK, it's on my street, so I'll go there for a bagel sandwich every once in a while, but I don't think it comes close to rivaling the other places named so far.

I was intoxicated when I visited, hence forgetting the name, and maybe why I thought it was better than it is. I will have to investigate further.
