My friend's band is from Canton and want to play in Columbus. They play out pretty frequently up there but if you are familiar with the area at all, you'll know that there is no scene to speak of and the bars are stereotypical wood-paneled depressing holes.

They're called Sweet Spot, they play all originals and it's this sort of boozy rock & roll but not corny stuff. The singer is a girl called Leslie with an amazing voice and she means every word she sings, wailing them with all her heart and guts.

So, I recently booked a show for another friend's band (from Brooklyn) at Ruby Tuesday and Scott from there was awesome to work with so I'm trying to see if I can get Sweet Spot on a bill there. Thing is: they can only play on a weekend night and are looking at October specifically right now. They're not looking to make money, they just want exposure.

Anyone willing to take on a killer opener for free for any weekend night shows in October?

Yeah, Sadie Renee's is about it as far as venues. Otherwise, it's bars with names like the Oriole's Nest and Double Tyme or the Dailee Dubble. I'm exaggerating but it is a sad, sorry state. In fact, I'm going up this weekend, looking forward to going to yet another miserable bar with misspelled signage and lots of smelly people. I am alowed to be so critical as it is my hometown, you see....
