I think you are all crazy! WOW is the same quality as timewarner or any other cable co I've used. I'm all about price. I get high speed (yes, I ckecd, i'm running the same speed as RR or any other cable) and basic cable...suckers pay for movie channels and pay less than $60.00 per month...Nobody, I mean Nobody has been able to touch that! Believe me, I check but I am also the best haggler on earth (no shit) so that is likely why it's so cheap. I called them and told them I was switching to TW and kept calling back and forth between them untill TW couldnt go any lower.

THEY ALL USE THE SAME LINES PEOPLE! THERE IS USUALLY A 10 TO 20 YEAR EXCLUSIVE RIGHT ON ANY CABLE OR PHONE LINES YOU INSTALL AND THEN IT'S OPEN SEASON...THAT'S WHERE WOW COMES IN

I use TW, but I try to keep up to date at the forums from time to time. They actually have a discussion over the same topic right now.

The word on the street is that Sinclair wants to charge TW $120 million for access to their stations nationally. ESPN only charges $80 million.

I'm unconflicted because except for the Fiesta Bowl, no other Buckeye football game has been broadcast in HD and ABC Sports supposedly has no foreseeable plans to do so (until 2009 in any case), so there's virtually no content on ABC or Fox that I would ever watch.

On the other hand, Sinclair are (cjr.org) who are trying to charge for content they broadcast free over public airwaves. Also, once TW cave to Sinclair, how soon until NBC and CBS ask for money and drive up your cable bill? Do you really want to give them your money?

Take the money you threatening Time Warner with a move to WOW, and buy the cheapest over-the-air receiver you can, but also, please don't support Wal-Mart buy buying an $80 receiver there.

my tv is just HDTV ready, doesn't have HD tuner built in and I believe those are still fairly expensive so OTA is out.

Hmmmm, i've never had to call TW for anything so i can't say anything about their customer service....except that I've had them for years and never had to call for anything.

I think for now i'll just stick with TW. unless it turns out that WOW would save me quite a bit (like $15/month or something). I'll have to see what i'm actually paying for my cable now.

I get good service from TW, and I'm not cheaping out and getting that tiny pipeline "highspeed" shit they sell, I like my 5 meg line thank you. I'm surprised I don't pay for the 8 meg line. but I like extra channels too, so no basic for me.

I just pulled it off again. Threatened to switch and they lowered my bill and threw in a DVR.

so what i'm gathering is that WOW is ok for the basic tv watcher. i don't do all that extra stuff. but through work i get internet/cable and phone w/ unlimited nationwide long distance for $79.99 a month. that's not bad when i'm paying $75/mo. now for just internet and cable with crappy insight.

You should check to see if WOW internet phone allows you to make 911 calls. I know you can with Time Warner digital phone, but it's a good thing to know upfront, and if not, what the alternative is...
