Columbus’s very own Scrawl played ATP’s “I’ll Be Your Mirror USA” in NYC this weekend, and in a nice surprise that you may have seen coming, Greg Dulli invited Scrawl singer (and Ace of Cups owner) Marcy Mays onstage to reprise her role as lead vocalist for the Afghan Whigs tune “My Curse.” A fan captured it in this video.

New York – based Battles kick off their US tour tonight in Columbus at Outland Live. After touring earlier this year through Australia and New Zealand, and co-curating the highly-revered All Tomorrow’s Parties with Les Savy Fav and Caribou, they’ll be playing new material from their most recent album Gloss Drop (Warp), which will be released tomorrow.
Direct support for Battles will be locals Way Yes. Doors are at 7pm.
All Tomorrow’s Parties is returning to the US this month for the first Edition of ATP’s sister event I’ll Be Your Mirror that has been currently held in Japan and the UK. The US edition of I’ll Be Your Mirror will be held in Asbury, New Jersey from September 30th to October 2nd. Saturday and Sunday of I’ll Be Your Mirror will be curated and headlined by Portishead who will be playing their first shows on the East Coast since 1998. Jeff Magnum will be playing two shows Friday and Saturday at the Festival.
