MP3: Eminem ft. Yelawolf & Slaughterhouse “Shady 2.0 BET Cypher” 2011

MP3:Eminem ft. Yelawolf, Slaughterhouse – Shady 2.0 (Bet Cypher)

Eminem and his Shady Records crew obliterated the BET Awards Cypher last night.
I love that Eminem starts off with a joke “lyrical miracle” rap before going into his real verse.

Tonight on BET’s The Deal:Fat Joe

(could’nt find an official video for the primo remix of success. )

Yeah Fat Joe made it rain with Weezy, and also made y’all lean back. But he also used to flow, joe was with DITC and he also wrote graffiti under the name . Crack TAT
I still remember reading an interview with him in On The Go back in the day, and Fat Joe talking about beating up people that shoplift from his store Halftime in the Bronx.
I ain’t saying money is the key to sex despite what the above video states. I ain’t saying beating people up is right.
But Fat Joe definately plays Hip Hop by rules of the Bronx and the fact he has lasted so long despite losing friends Big L, and Big Pun, as well as beefing with 50 is a pretty good study in money, power and respect within Hip Hop.
Or how hip hop starts with your block.
Anyway, the Bronx vet will be on BET’s the Deal tonight at 300 am.

BET’s The Deal’s “Throwback Thursday” Takes Us Willy Wayback Tonight

No I’m not on the Deal this week. When you ask? Not Yet.
But in the meantime I’m geeked to watch tonight’s episode at 3am hosted by Memphitz and DJ Diamond Cutz:

It’s Throwback Thursday so The Deal’s got that classic hip-hop coming to your area code. We’re recapping the Fresh Fest with rap legends in the game and we’re featuring true school videos like only we can! It’s all going down on The Deal!

Donewaiting x BET’s “The Deal” aka Wes Flexner on Black Entertainment Television

While the buzz is still in the air from last night’s BET Awards, I figure now is the perfect time to announce this:

I’m gonna be on BET’s the Deal in Mid-July. This is the start of Donewaiting and the Deal working together.

The Deal has a segment called “Blog About it. Be About it” which I’ll be on. If you aren’t familiar with the Deal, well, it airs every weeknight 3am on Black Entertainment Television. The Deal basically covers superstars like Snoop Dog, up and comers like Curren$y, as well dabbles in grafftiti like Dez, and anything here or there involving Hip Hop culture.

It’s like if Rap Cityor Yo!MTV Raps had worked out how wacky Hip Hop is these day instead of just having to make sense of Def Jam and Ruthless Records.

My first on air appearance will be in Mid July. I’ll post the exact date when they give me it. It that segment I discuss Columbus Hip Hop and graffiti, past, present and future. I recorded the segment with James from Electraplay.

From there, I’m going to profile Ohio and Midwest rappers from time to time on the program. So, if things work out, we are sitting in a position to put our city on a larger stage. The segments will be like Big Tigger meets Wayne’s World with hopefully a little Charlie Rose/Tavis Smiley on top.

So expect some cross-over between BET’s “The Deal” and Donewaiting. Don’t worry we will still cover Rock musicks and other things of the nature. This is a perfect fit with the amount of love Hip Hop and Indie Rock have for each other right now: Blakroc, B.O.B. sampling Vampire Weekend, Jay-z/Grizzly Bear, everyone loves Radiohead etc

To get familiar with the show, please tune-in this week. Here are some highlights:

Wednesday, June 30th

DJ Diamond Kuts takes The Deal to Orlando , Florida . We’re catching up with Trae the Truth and ‘Ridin Underground’ with Homeboy Sandman.

Thursday, July 1st

Roscoe Dash takes over The Deal, Crazy Al Cayne’s ‘Spittin in Da Wip’ with Mic Geronino, and NYC lyricists talk that real hip-hop ‘On the Corner.’

Ropas-Columbus Graffiti

Last Week, I spent a decent about of time corresponding with people involved with BET’s “The Deal. It’s a Hip Hop program that airs on the cable network @ 3am every weeknight. The Deals agenda is to blow-up the newnew in Hip Hop and also to show love to parts of the culture that people sleep on.

We agreed that a relationship between “The Deal” and Donewaiting has potential to make some unique things happen.

When I was reading this week’s schedule two episodes stuck out to me….Tuesday’s episode that had Styles P bigging up his favorite female emcee, and Friday’s show that has Mixtape Drama King DJ Kay Slay aka DEZ discussing the importance of graffiti history.

This got me thinking about my good friend Ropas and her impact on Columbus and NYC graffiti.

Ropas is orginally from Columbus, and a Fort Hayes graduate.

Ropas was a powerhouse starting back in 94-95 in our city. She was prolific with unique pieces, toss-ups and handstyles.
She eventually moved to New York to go to Pratt, in 97 I think and blew the fuck up.
But she would return to Columbus during the Summer.

She often played the devil’s advocate and was no stranger to beef when returning home to the C-0.

Her + Set-up vs. Metro, Cas and Jek?

Even when she was fueding with my people we would have to give it up to her. Ro was up in high profile spots in Manhattan and BK
Her NYC bombing partners were never were slouches. Ropas painted with people like Set-up, Elik and Set.

(More about Ropas and tons of flicks after the jump)
