Eddie Vedder’s working on making the ukulele cool – the Pearl Jam singer recently released an album titled Ukulele Songs featuring the small stringed instrument.
On Monday evening, a young Minnesota songwriter, the charming Savannah Smith, brings her unique ukulele compositions to Rumba Cafe where she’s likely to play songs from her recently completed EP, Leaving Eau Claire, as well as a few covers. This is an early show, Smith goes on around 8pm.

Ah, seems like just yesterday I was seeing Bruce performing at a Kerry rally at the same location…… no wait that was four years ago.
Bruce Springsteen will perform an acoustic set on the Main Oval on the Ohio State University campus as part of an Obama rally to support Ohio’s “early voting” period … Gates for the Springsteen program will open at 3 p.m. and the event is scheduled for 4:30 p.m … Free “preferred tickets” will be distributed at Obama campaign offices in Columbus and statewide at 10 a.m to 8:00 p.m. Thursday through the weekend.
